Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) provides a voluntary, intensive, and structured program which includes group therapy and medication management Mondays – Fridays from 8:00AM – 2:30PM. During the day, you will attend six sessions of group therapy ranging from education-based groups to processing groups (traditional group therapy) to activity & craft-based groups. Each day, you will have a check-in group at the beginning of the day and a check-out group at the end of the day which allows Circle of Hope staff to understand each client’s needs for the day and better cater treatment to those needs. You will also have two breaks, be provided with lunch, and have access to snacks & beverages daily.

A significant component of PHP is weekly medication management which includes seeing a psychiatrist or nurse practitioner three times a week to allow for medication monitoring and needed changes. Medication management is a key component of PHP services. To be considered to have successfully completed the program, you must complete a minimum of ten attended days of treatment. The length of the program can be longer depending on the collaborative decision between the treatment team and you. Typically, PHP lasts roughly 2 – 4 weeks. PHP focuses on mental health stabilization, medication management, development of coping skills, and preparation for transition to a lower level of care.
